    keep getting a p0335 customer was at Nissan dealer they installed a battery,crankshaft sensor and then told the customer that the computer was bad.....customer then took to a different repair shop to have a used pcm installed and flashed.....still same code...after clearing codes the check engine light comes right back on setting the code....im lab scoping the crank/cam signals and noticing the are at 8.45 volts while cranking the engine over. i think thats too low... i have checked the emc main relay and even by passed it ...still same voltage at the pcm on the sensor wires.... ohm check the wires/harness all within spec. checked voltage drop on the grounds all good 0.07 to 0.04 any ideas?

  • found and fixed the problem...the camshaft sensor was pulling the line voltage down far enough while engine was cranking....causing the computer to think the crankshaft sensor was not working. replaced both crank/camshaft sensor with new Nissan parts.make sure to install the right sensor in the right location. both sensors are identical !!! tsb update to identify parts/numbers and location.

  • Hey guys. 2005 nissan 350z bone stock. Put a double din head unit and two kenwood speakers in the rear and now getting a p0335 code. It doesnt even want to start. Any ideas. Used a matched wiring harness and everything to install head unit and grounded it using the large ground just behind the three dash gauges. Only weird wiring is to get the antenna to work right it was spliced to the power for the headunit. On the wiring harnesses it was a blue wire labeled power antenna with no matching wire for the pioneer fh-x720bt head unit harness. Radio reception was terrible till i powered it.
    Rly need help asap had to get towed home and about to pay a huge tow bill to get it dtowed to the garage.

  • The code has noting to do with the audio system.

    It's possible the the audio system is draining the battery. If the battery is low, the engine will crank slow and the P0335 is trigger.

    You should start by removing the audio unit or jump the battery. Make sure you check all the fuses as well.

  • 2003 350z...I just changed the clutch and flywheel and my car wouldn't start after, disconnected the ckp sensor and after a few cranks it started. So the following day bought a new ckp sensor after testing it with a volt meter to ensure it was good. Once installed my car still won't start and I am still getting a p0335 code and now it won't start with the sensor unplugged.

  • Unfortunately the flywheel was not properly installed. You have to remove and install the flywheel again. The engine starts with the CKP sensor disconnected, because the ECM uses other sensor to read the engine position, but it will run in a fail-safe mode.

  • We already checked the flywheel. There was only one spot for the dowel to go for the flywheel. If it was installed wrong I don't think the car would've ran smooth enough to be driven...I could be wrong but I know it's in right.

  • The ECM has stored some initial values for each sensor (factory stored values), if one of the sensor (e.g. CKP, MAF) is disconnected or gets damage (totally damage no signal at all) it uses the stored values to try running the engine as best as possible, but it will run in a "Fail Safe" mode (aka Limp Mode).

    If you connect a wrong sensor, damage sensor or the sensor reading is not within the factory specs, but the ECM gets some signal, then the engine will will use that signal to start the engine. If the signal is bad, then it won't start.

    FYI there is another hole on the flywheel where the dowel pin can go as well, and it's only a few centimeters from the dowel pin hole.

  • You just clean the Crankshaft Position Sensor, but you probably have to replace the sensor. Usually the problem is inside the sensor.

  • The 75% of the times (according to a nation database of repairs) the Crankshaft Position Sensor is the cause of the problem, but in some cases, it's the Camshaft Position Sensor the problem.   • Of all the codes you listed, only the P0335 code (Crankshaft Position Sensor) will cause the symptom you described. Have you tried clearing the codes? what codes comes back first? did you use a factory Sensor?

  • when i triy clearing p0335, engine stall. all codes cleares, without p1800, and p1051. from deleted codes comes back first p0550 and p0037. after driving comes back p0335. now, i use crankshaft sensor "made in china"

  • I have had bad luck with aftermarket Crankshaft Position Sensors, there is a 50-50 chance that the sensors work or not. I recommend only OEM or OES parts or from known brads like Hitachi.

    I have changed the crankshaft sensor with factory and the camshaft with aftermarket I have checked wiring and it’s all good and I sent in the ecm to see if it was bad but there was nothing wrong with it. I also changed maf sensor because there was code for it but no more only po335, car runs alright but there’s still something

  • Other than the Crankshaft Position Sensor I have not seen any other components setting the P0335 code. There are no factory bulletins or recalls either. My only recommendation is to double check the sensor connector. Do you have any other symptoms?
