  • P2118 - 2008 Toyota 4Runner, after a jump start and batter change. Problem was a 10 amp fuse for the power to the throttle control motor. The fuse is located under the hood in the main box, not in the cabin. I can't remember how it was labeled (but it was not labeled to be easily found). I believe it is in the front right side of the fuse box. Replaced fuse cleared code, problem fixed.

  • Hi guys, I'm so grateful for all the information you guys provided. My Rav4 2008, battery died. Bought a new battery, but no exceleration. It would not go more than 20 miles per hour. Took it to the dealer who did a diagnostic, who wanted to charge us $1300 to get a throttle control actuator. But Thanks be to GOD for you guys. I got on line and saw you comments. I checked the fuse, changed it, and everything thing went back to normal. My Rav4 is working again, with not even a dime spent. Thanks guys for sharing. I had to share mine as well.

  • Hi. Guys, I av 2 Toyota corollas 2008 and 2012 I asked my kids to change one battery for the other, because the other battery was down but the terminals were wrongly positioned. Now the gas pedal of the 2008 is not coming up, but the 2012 won't start(just cranks) after it started ealier. Please what do I do?

  • "Checking the Fuse" trick totally works. After I changed my battery for my 2010 RAV4, my engine light, 4WD and Slip sensor lights were turned on, which leads to the gas panel doesn't work. I ran the diagnostic and it came back P2118. So I followed a video (below) and owner's manual to locate the ETCS fuse and spare fuse, then did a quick swap. Everything is now a-ok. Thanks for saving me hundreds of dollars, everyone!
