Unfortunately never had that problem, but you should also check for intake leaks. Intake air leaks could case the idle to increase and trigger the P1506 code.

I have a 1999 Ford Ranger, 2.5L engine, 2-wheel drive, 5-speed manual transmission, with no tachometer, it has an electrical speedometer (no cable). The check engine light keeps coming on with the P1506 Idle Air Control Overspeed Error Code. I have cleared the code each time and have disconnected the battery as well. The throttle body has been completely cleaned, all vacuum ports on the throttle body have been cleaned, all vacuum hoses to the throttle body has been cleaned or replaced. The EGR Valve has been replaced, the PCV Valve has been replaced, and the IAC Valve has been tested and replaced twice. The TPS had been tested and calibrated. There are no vacuum leaks. When revving up the engine, it goes to idle slowly. When driving and shifting gears, the engine RPM stays to where it was taken to before shifting to the next gear. In 2nd gear when driving around 25 MPH, I can either push in the clutch or put it in neutral, the engine RPM will not drop to idle, until I come to a complete stop. Shifting the gears is good. I haven't tested the Mass Sensor yet, but I am not getting any other codes, except the P1506.
