P0302 Toyota Code - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected

hi my name is Scott...engine light on...misfire cylinder 2/5....1999 Toyota solara ....I changed all plugs and wires...ran a test on it again...still on and running rough...don't believe it's the coil pack...not sure what to do...please help...email me at [email protected] thank you Scott

If the spark plugs are OK then the problem is more than likely the ignition coil. Try swapping the coil and check if the code follows the coil.

I had a similar issue with my 02 Avalon. I was getting codes 300, 302, 304 and 306 but instead of replacing items first, I decided to clean them. I removed the Oil control valve (OCV) also known as the variable valve timing and cleaned it with carb cleaner making sure to actuate the plunger inside as I was cleaning it. Once done, I just reinstalled the OCV and cleared my codes thinking more would come back but as of 300 miles later, no codes. I had to do several hours of research to finally determine what the issue was so ask google :)

Hi all, I have a issue in my car Toyota corolla 2009, my car has been damaging the ignition coil three times. I put the computer diagnostic codes and were PO303, PO301 and PO302 now. Everytime I go the workshop did not find anything. I want to know what happen? why the ignition coil are damaging. help please.

Are you usings factory ignition coils? some aftermarket coils will only last for a few months. Also make sure the electric engine grounds are properly secure (good connection to battery and engine)

Hi I have Toyota Sienna 2007 about 120K miles. Van doesn't drive when accelerating on gas paddle after it start normally (this problem is only happens twice or three times in a week), after accelerating multiple time, it works fine. I took the VAN to the dealer shop and they said several codes (P0015, P0171,P0174, P0300, P0301, P0302) and told me to replace OCV (Oil Control Valve) and all Spark plugs. which I did, but after one week, all these codes (P0171,P0174, P0300,P0302, P0304,P0306. P0113) came back and same problem again. it only stall or hard to run when I am accelerating from parking after start. I called dealer shop back and they told me that I need to replace fuel pump value which I don't want to spend money and don't know if problem gets fixed. so I did some research on google and Cleaned MAF sensor properly. Air Filters. etc but after resetting codes, it come back in a week anytime. any idea what could be the problem.

There are some test that needs to be done to determine exactly what the problem is, but based on all the codes you have, sounds like you may have a problem an air leak near the Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF) or a bad MAF (not just dirty). All the P03xxx codes are more than likely a result of the problem and the P0171 and P0174 codes means that there is unmeter air entering then engine. So if you can't find any intake leaks, then you probably have to replace the MAF.

I have a code 302 on my 2003 Toyota Highlander. I changed the Ignition coil, but it is still misfiring. What can I do. The code is still there.

Have you change the spark plugs lately? when the ignition coil fails, it will sometimes damage the spark plug as well.

I have a toyota yaris 2011 with the symptoms below
Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) Lack/loss of power Hard start Engine hesitation
It had overheated and the engine coupling was damaged. I took it for resurfacing and placed the same coupling with new valves. It worked for a week then i started noticing the symptoms above
I am thinking on replacing the Ignition coils but somebody suggested to get a new coupling or used coupling in good conditions. I just want to mention that the engine light was on before it overheated
The reason it overheated is because the radiator cap was poorly closed and water leaked until it got lower to overheat the engine
What is your suggestion? Has anybody faced the same problem

You should perform a compression test. If test is OK, then you may have a problem with the fuel injector.

My engine light came on today and immediately starting losing power. Autozone across the street, drove in and had it checked for codes. P0302. It suggested most likely fix was a new ECM. Nothing about checking the #2 cylinder or spark plug. They only went by the printed readout from their scanner and gave no suggestions or things to check. I'm at 147k so 150k was around the corner for the 150k maintenance. Does their diagnosis sound legit? C1201 & C1422 was also on the printout but not showing up in the code scanner. hmmmm

Not at all. I'll start by changing the spark plugs and clearing the codes.

Ok, so I'm getting the misfire code on 05 Toyota Sienna. The van starts, runs, but once it turns off, it generally won't start again. Replaced the battery (it was time). Still getting 302 code.
Engine runs rough when it starts.
Was thinking Ignition coil, but the no starting issue has me stumped.
Any ideas?
