P0107 Ford Code - Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Sensor Low Input
Quick Answer
The P0107 diagnostic trouble code indicates that there is a low input signal from the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor or Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor in the vehicle's engine control module (ECM). Common causes include Faulty MAP/BARO sensor, Wiring issues or a poor connection to the sensor, Vacuum leaks in the intake system. Severity is High - diagnose this code as soon as possible. Driving is not recommended if the warning light is flashing, the engine runs poorly, or safety-related symptoms are present.

Code P0107 Ford Description
The P0107 diagnostic trouble code indicates that there is a low input signal from the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor or Barometric Pressure (BARO) sensor in the vehicle's engine control module (ECM). The MAP sensor measures the pressure inside the intake manifold, which allows the ECM to calculate the amount of air entering the engine. This data is crucial for the ECM to determine the correct air-fuel mixture for combustion. A low input signal from the MAP sensor could lead to incorrect fuel injection timing, affecting engine performance and efficiency. If not addressed, it can result in poor fuel economy, rough idling, and potential engine misfires.
Common Causes of P0107 Ford
- Faulty MAP/BARO sensor
- Wiring issues or a poor connection to the sensor
- Vacuum leaks in the intake system
- Clogged air filter restricting airflow
- ECM software or hardware issues
Symptoms of P0107 Ford
- Decreased engine performance
- Reduced fuel efficiency
- Rough idling or stalling
- Check Engine Light illuminated
- Difficulty starting the engine
How to Fix P0107 Ford
- Begin by diagnosing the issue using a scan tool to confirm the P0107 code and check the sensor's output voltage.
- Inspect the wiring and connections to the MAP/BARO sensor for any damage or corrosion, repairing or replacing as needed.
- Check for any vacuum leaks in the intake system and repair them.
- Replace the MAP/BARO sensor if it is found to be faulty.
- Clear the error code and test drive the vehicle to ensure the issue has been resolved.
Cost to Fix P0107 Ford
The typical repair costs for addressing a P0107 code can range from $100 to $300, depending on the specific cause of the issue and the cost of parts and labor. It's important to note that diagnosis time and labor rates can vary, so it's advisable to check with local auto repair shops for a more accurate estimate based on your location and vehicle model.

I have a Ford Ranger TDI 2.5 2007, DIESEL and while on highway the RPM dropped to 2200 and max speed remained at 110km/hr. Even when I hit the floor with the gas pedal, rpm never went up.
I scanned the Ranger and gave me Code P0107..... I let the truck at home and few days latter I started the engine and ran normal but after 30min. it happened again.... Now I'm trying to get diagrams or a flow chart to trouble shoot this issue.... any help will be appreciated... Regards...from Chile
