Code P0075 Nissan Description
The P0075 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for Nissan vehicles specifically refers to an issue with the Intake Valve Control Solenoid Circuit in Bank 1. This code indicates that there is a problem with the electrical circuit that controls the intake valve solenoid in one of the engine banks. The intake valve solenoid is responsible for regulating the flow of air into the engine's combustion chamber, which is crucial for proper engine performance and efficiency. When this circuit malfunctions, it can lead to various issues that affect the vehicle's overall performance and fuel economy.
Common Causes of P0075 Nissan
- Wiring issues: Corrosion, damage, or loose connections in the wiring harness connected to the intake valve control solenoid can trigger this code.
- Faulty solenoid: The intake valve control solenoid itself may be malfunctioning, causing the circuit to fail.
- Electrical problems: Issues with the vehicle's electrical system, such as a blown fuse or relay, can lead to this code being triggered.
- PCM (Powertrain Control Module) failure: A failure in the PCM, which controls the intake valve solenoid circuit, can also be a potential cause.
- Environmental factors: Exposure to extreme temperatures or moisture can damage the intake valve control solenoid circuit components.
Symptoms of P0075 Nissan
- Rough idling or stalling: A faulty intake valve control solenoid can cause the engine to idle roughly or stall unexpectedly.
- Decreased fuel efficiency: Problems with the intake valve solenoid circuit can lead to decreased fuel efficiency as the engine may not be receiving the proper air flow.
- Engine misfires: The vehicle may experience engine misfires, which can result in a loss of power and rough operation.
- Illuminated check engine light: The most common symptom of this code is the illumination of the check engine light on the dashboard.
- Reduced engine performance: The vehicle may exhibit a decrease in overall engine performance, including acceleration and responsiveness.
How to Fix P0075 Nissan
- Diagnose the issue: Use an OBD-II scanner to retrieve the specific DTC code and pinpoint the location of the problem within the intake valve control solenoid circuit.
- Inspect wiring and connections: Check the wiring harness and connections for any signs of damage, corrosion, or looseness. Repair or replace as needed.
- Test the solenoid: Test the intake valve control solenoid to determine if it is functioning properly. Replace if necessary.
- Check electrical components: Inspect fuses, relays, and other electrical components related to the intake valve control solenoid circuit for any faults.
- Clear the code: After repairing the issue, clear the DTC code and test drive the vehicle to ensure that the problem has been resolved.
Cost to Fix P0075 Nissan
The cost of repairing a P0075 code for a Nissan vehicle can vary depending on the specific cause of the issue and the labor rates in your area. On average, you can expect to pay between $150 to $400 for parts and labor. Keep in mind that diagnostic time and labor rates at auto repair shops can fluctuate based on factors such as location, vehicle make and model, and engine type. It is recommended to get quotes from local auto repair shops to obtain a more accurate estimate for your specific situation.

Discuss the causes and fixes for P0075 Nissan OBDII Code
-
where his the intake valve timing control solenoid value circuit bank 1 located
-
Usually the solenoids are on top of the engine valve covers. What model and year is your Nissan?
-
Passenger side of the engine. Location image here: https://www.autocodes.com/p00...
-
I had the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve (as the part is sometimes called) replaced; however, the Service Engine Soon Warning Light is still on with the P0075 code. So, I erased the code with the OBDII scanner, but it still there. What's the next step...
-
BTW - the car is a 2009 Nissan Sentra 2.0L- thanks for any assistance or direction.
-
What model and year is your Nissan? How is the engine oil? what oil weight are you using?
-
2009 Sentra 2.0L; I purchase the car and immediately changed the oil. So, the oil is Castro 5W-30 for hi-mileage. The oil level is good. I recently purchased the car and my daughter has driven less than 1000 miles since then. I know that prior to my purchase the car just sat for several months, and then was sold at auction. So, I don't know how well the car was taken car of during those few months.
-
If there no drive ability problems, you could try just clearing the code for now and wait if after a couple of oil changes the engine light still comes ON. Usually replacing the solenoid valve takes care of the problem.
-
I have a 2012 nissan versa sv 1.6 I recently had my spark plugs changed and my mil came on. I took it to autozone and got p0075 and p0171. My car is a little hesitant and shaky. I tried cleaning the maf sensor but the light is still on. I want to replace my intake control valve but I don't know the location. Can someone send a diagram plz?
-
Here is the only image I got of the valve. Since the problem started after replacing the spark plugs, make sure you check all the connections before replacing the valve. Also, check the engine oil level and condition, dirty oil can cause an improper operation of the valve.
-
Hey thanks,
I have my oil changed regularly so I doubt its that. -
I have a 2006 nissan murano se awd. I was previously getting a p0011 and p0420 dtc. My friend brought over a different scan tool, and now I'm getting a set of different dtcs. P0075, P0081, P0223, & P0123. In regards to the P0011 dtc, the solenoid valve works. I bench tested it. However, I found that I wasn't getting any power at it's connector. I have been searching for the correct wiring diagrams so I can check to see where, at what point I'm losing power. But I have come up empty handed every time. Where should I do pin checks to find where I'm losing power?

The valve solenoid part could be working OK, but sometimes, the problem is oil sludge clogging the oil passages.
-
I have a 2008 Nissan Sentra 2.0 My Service Engine Soon Warning Light came on just after a car tracker was uninstalled and on the 3rd day my would not start. A scan gave the P0075 error code.
Could this error cause my car not to sart? -
As far as I know problems with the Intake Valve Control Solenoid Bank 1 won't cause a no start problem.
-
Depends what exactly is the problem and if you use a factory parts or aftermarket. The price could range from $100-$200 for parts and labor.
Before you replace any parts, make sure the engine oil level and condition is OK. -
It's threw a code for p0075 for the intake solenoid valve. Bank 1. How much will that cost to replace? Thanks for your response
-
Just took it to a mechanic that says the labor is 6 hours at 135 an hour and 275 for the part. In total, 1187. Is this a valid price or no?
-
Let me check for more information. Do you have a 2.5L or 3.5L engine? how is the engine oil level and condition?
-
i have a Nissan altima 2010 2,5 S and the check engine continues to turn on the code for the problem is P0075 intake valve timing circuit bank 1 i bought the part online but not original does that make a diffrence ?
-
No. What part exactly did you replaced, the Intake Valve Control Solenoid? how is the engine oil level and condition?
