My 2006 GMC Yukon started having a spewing sound then would pull to the right hence causing me to suspect the ABS system. I took it to a shop and got a diagnosis ran on it and the system stated a Yaw Rate Problem and gave the code C0196. Having been an auto tech and giving it up in 1982 I am leery of commencing changing parts. I've done some reading on this and have almost determined that the Yaw Rate Sensor might be the problem. Any input you might be willing to divulge just might save me some $$$$$$.

I also found the following information:Inspect yaw/lateral acceleration sensor located under the front passenger seat for any damage. GM TSB states an improved sensor is available. Old GM Part # 15189628. An improved design GM Part # 15220053. Inspect the electronic brake control module (EBCM) and connector located inside the left frame rail forward of the fuel tank for any damage or corrosion. Use Scanner to monitor the yaw sensor voltage. It should be around 2.5 volts when the vehicle is not moving or driving straight. For a more accurate diagnosis use the Component Test Meter to probe the reference voltage circuit at the yaw sensor connector to ensure 5 volts at all times. Probe the yaw sensor signal circuit and test drive the vehicle and watch for any glitches. Any instability in the signal voltage indicates a wiring fault.
