Code B0094 Description
The B0094 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) relates to the Crash Zone Sensor in a vehicle's supplemental restraint system (SRS). The Crash Zone Sensor is a critical component that helps to detect impact forces during a collision and trigger the deployment of airbags and seat belt pretensioners to protect occupants. When this sensor malfunctions or fails, it can compromise the vehicle's ability to deploy safety features in the event of an accident, putting occupants at risk.
Common Causes of B0094
- Sensor malfunction due to electrical issues or wiring damage
- Impact or physical damage to the sensor
- Corrosion or moisture intrusion affecting sensor performance
- Software or calibration issues within the SRS system
- Faulty connections or poor grounding
Symptoms of B0094
- Airbag warning light illuminated on the dashboard
- Inability to deploy airbags during a collision
- Seat belt pretensioners not activating
- Erratic or unintended airbag deployment
- Vehicle fails crash test simulations
How to Fix B0094
- Diagnostic scan to retrieve the specific fault code and confirm the issue with the Crash Zone Sensor
- Inspect wiring harness and connections for damage or corrosion
- Test Crash Zone Sensor functionality using specialized tools
- Replace the sensor if it is determined to be faulty
- Clear the DTC and perform a test drive to ensure the issue is resolved
Cost to Fix B0094
The cost estimate for repairing a B0094 Crash Zone Sensor code can vary depending on the make and model of the vehicle, as well as the specific underlying issue. On average, the replacement of a Crash Zone Sensor can cost between $200 to $500, including parts and labor. However, additional diagnostic fees and potential wiring repairs may increase the total repair cost. It is recommended to consult with a trusted mechanic or dealership to get a more accurate estimate based on your vehicle's specific needs.

Precautions for SRS “AIR BAG” and “SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER” Service
- Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, side air curtain modules or seat belts.
- Never disassemble or tamper with safety belt buckle/retractor pretensioners, adaptive load limiting retractors, safety belt inflators, or probe the electrical connectors.
- Do not use electrical test equipment to check SRS circuits unless instructed to in this Service Manual.
- Before servicing the SRS, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes. For approximately 3 minutes after the cables are removed, it is still possible for the air bag and seat belt pre-tensioner to deploy. Therefore, do not work on any SRS connectors or wires until at least 3 minutes have passed.
Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
