    Currently receiving P2279 code, I did clean throttle but replaced with thermal gasket can that be the cause?

  • Are you referring to the "idle relearn procedure"? I was instructed to remove the negative post for 20 minutes or so until computer resets, once completed to connect battery and start vehicle with no load and run rpm @ 3,000 until fan cycles twice or 5 minutes than once that is done to leave vehicle on for another 5 minutes. I did follow but didn't seem to do anything.

    I checked a national database of repairs, and besides the idle learning procedure, the most common part is the PCV valve

  • First, I would like to say that I sincerely appreciate the time you are taking trying to help out and I am grateful for that. Regarding the vehicle, I believe that I should have provided more information. Acura MDX 2006 Touring with approximate 129k. Timing belt and water pump replaced around 91K. In the past 2 months did some maintence which the engine light was already on with the same code. During the time I did some work such as some basic items such as rear diff fluid change, partial trans fluid change, idler pulley replaced with the drive belt, Spark plug , Coils (all) EGR and PCV valve. I did read something about the PCV which I had already changed it but I checked if all was properly hooked up. The odd part of this is approximately a month later no more than a month the PCV seemed clogged already. I was not able to hear the rattle at all. After cleaning it I was able to hear the rattle but dont understand why it was clogged.
    I am very lost with this , Truly I dont know what to do and what is frustrating after speaking so much money and the codes being on, From experience with all the items listed already being taken care of how much do you think the cost is or the average cost for someone to look at this?
    What I was wanting to know can another defective part trigger this code? I am not really understanding what to look for on the OBD2 besides the bottom line code. I dont know if there is s away to narrow the issues by looking at the readings? I am willing to donate , which in advance for someone to review the readings I I receive through the OBD2.
