Discuss the causes and fixes for P2178 Chevrolet OBDII Code

  • My 2011 Chevy Traverse has P2178 code and that happened after I replaced the injectors, coils and spark plugs. Any idea if this is something has to do wirh the injectors or the MAF sensor ? Also giving me a P0300 and P0303 Misfire !!

    Thanks !!

  • The P2178 code means that the air/fuel mixture ratio is running too rich, in other words, there is more fuel than air. Since you just replace the fuel injectors and coil, and have the P0300 and P0303 code, the problem is either a bad Ignition Coil #3 or the Fuel Injector #3 was not properly installed and is leaking fuel. The easiest way to check is by swapping the ignition coil and test again if the code follow s the coil.
