Would a bad gasket/seal on a spark plug tube cause the code? when I removed spark plug closest to the battery the spark plug wire and & spark plug were completely coated in oil.

Can bad fuel injectors cause this problem as well? I have a cylinder three misfire detected so I switched fuel injectors with cylinder 1 and now its cylinder three and two giving me problems but it is running a little bit better. This car has been a nightmare so far. I did replace coil pack and plug and wires. I've also replaced a camshaft posuitiong sensor as that gave me problems too.

2008 Chrysler PT Cruiser. I have replaced the TPS and the MAP. Checked thoroughly for vacuum leakes, hoses, throttle body, etc. o rings on intake manifold and throttle body seem good. Still idling extremely high (30 - 40,000 rpms) upon start and 20,000 under load. In park after being under a load idle revs up and down to an almost stall. Only code is P2074. Help! Is it the ECM?

I did change the spark plugs recently. I went with Bosch iradium tip per the recommendation of the guy at the auto parts store. I know these aren’t the original type. Unfortunately threw those out. Car ran fine for a while afterwards but maybe these plugs are causing the high idle? I’ll replace again with standard plugs an update if any change. Thanks.

UPDATE - FIXED. Decided to remove and inspect the ICV (idle control valve) located on the throttle body itself. Discovered a small piece of wood debris lodged inside preventing the valve from closing. Once I removed the small obstruction no issues! I have no idea how that worked it’s way in there.

I just bought 2005 pt cruiser turbo and the previous owner was told after having it diagnostic done it needed new PCM because check engine light was on . He ordered off eBay installed himself light went out and first week I got the care light was on I checked for codes and P2074 comes up. When I go up small hill and hit gas just a little it don't seems as if it wants to go and car idles rough and the check engine light back on. Air filter was dirty changed it now I'm wondering do I need to change map sensor? Or should I change Mass Air flow Senor or maybe both? Help

If I had the manifold off, or just unscrewed to get to the radiator hose and started the engine, could doing that trigger the code and the not go away, even after manifold is attached back correctly? In other words, if that could or would cause a 2074 code to pop up I'll it stay until I do the reset thing.?

Well I'm in the process to be honest of replacing the fan because mine has the overheating problem. I checked the fuses the relay the thermostat the cap bled the system in five different ways, which I didn't even know was supposed to be done however I just moved to Denver where it's cold and prior lifted Florida where a thermostat was it needed, lol. I should know today if the code comes back on another question is could that cause anything with the overheating issue?

I have a 2004 ram 1500 with error codes 2074, 0300, 0068, and 0113. I've changed the spark plugs, the coils, and the injectors in an attempt to fix the p0300 but this morning the p0068 code appeared after filling up on gas and putting a bit of injector cleaner into the tank, by the time I got home all the rest of the codes started up and I can get it running but it wont stay on for longer then a minute. What would cause all 3 new issues to pop up? Could this be a heasgasket issue? I've replaced the throttle position sensor as well
