An MOT/mechanics in Hither Green serviced my HW51 Yaris a few weeks ago. My partner picked up my car and drove off not realised that the Check Engine / Service Your Car light had come on on the dash. I took it back in and they said it was nothing to do with them, I tried to explain that it had never come on before and I wanted to know what it meant. They didn't know, so I pressured them to run a diagnostics on it - it was P1656 OCV Bank 1. They didn't know what it meant and asked me to Google it. I did and said there was a fault with the Oil Control Valve unit. They explained it was nothing to do with them as they had only changed the oil and (their words) they didn't even know where that valve was. I asked them if they could tell me if they knew of an engineer who might know where certain valves where in engines. I googled it on my car make / model and showed them. They then could not turn the light off - so there is something clearly wrong.
Can anyone advise on what to do? Is this a concern? -

Possibly a clogged OCV Oil Filter causing this as well. Maybe it has oil sludge. The said filter should be serviced as well. You need to clean the filter. Dirty, clogged filter will trigger this error as well.
