P1545 GMC - A/C Clutch Relay Control Circuit
P1545 GMC Possible Causes
- Faulty A/C Clutch Relay
- A/C Clutch Relay harness is open or shorted
- A/C Clutch Relay circuit poor electrical connection
How is the P1545 GMC code repair?Start by checking the "Possible Causes" listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins.
What is the cost to diagnose the P1545 GMC code
Labor: 1.0The cost to diagnose the P1545 GMC code is 1.0 hour of labor. The auto repair labor rates vary widely across the country, and even within the same city. Most auto repairs shops charge between $75 and $150 per hour.
When is the code detected? If the fault detection circuit senses a voltage other than what the circuit expects, the fault line status changes causing the P1545 code to set.
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
P1545 GMC MeaningIgnition voltage is supplied directly to the Air Condition (A/C) compressor clutch relay coil. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the relay by grounding the control circuit via an internal switch called a driver. The primary function of the driver is to supply the ground for the controlled component. Each driver has a fault line which the PCM monitors. When the PCM commands a component ON, the voltage of the control circuit should be low (near 0 volts). When the PCM is commanding the control circuit to a component OFF, the voltage potential of the circuit should be high (near battery voltage).
