  • Thank you for your expedient response. I just picked this part up from my local auto shop hopefully this fixes the issue!

  • I need help with a 2013 Ford F-150 Lariat ecoboost P144c code fix. I have already replaced the cannister purge valve on top of the engine and the P144c code is still being thrown. Not sure what else to do

  • According to a national database of repairs for your model and year, the most common solution for the P144C code is the EVAP Purge Solenoid Valve, but there some mechanics reported that it was necessary to reprogram the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to repair the problem. At this point my suggestion is to reprogram the PCM.

  • on a 2017 Ford edge sport 2.7ecoboost, I have a P144C code what is part # for their purge valve, this started to happen soon after installing the JLT oil separator, I'm sure it's not that as it's 2 separate systems.

  • Parts numbers change often, this is the part number I got, but could have changed.

Purge Solenoid Valve Ford part # CU5Z-9F945-D

  • Hello, I have a 2017 Explorer Sport 3.5L Ecoboost. The CEL is on and the code is P144C. What part am I to replace?

  • This is perfect, thank you!

  • I changed this part but the CEL remains. Will the code need to be cleared manually or will the CEL turn off after driving for some time. I have read that this is a permanent code meaning it will need to be cleared? I realize that there could potentially be another issue causing the P144C code but decided to try the easiest potential fix first. Also, I did try to blow/suck through the old valve to see if it was stuck open. I was unable to pass any air through it so does this potentially point to another issue?

  • It may take a few days to clear the code by itself, or you can manually clear the code with a scanner.

  • Have a 2015 ford expedition xlt with code p144c does anyone have a part number and picture of the part

    • On the 2015 Expedition, the P144C usually points to the EVAP purge check valve. Ford doesn’t sell it as a separate “check valve” by name — it’s part of the canister purge valve assembly.

It sits near the EVAP canister on the passenger side frame rail toward the rear of the vehicle. It’s a small plastic valve with two vacuum hoses and one electrical connector.

A common replacement part number you can use as a reference is BL3Z-9B325-C (also sold under various aftermarket numbers). If you search that number, you’ll see pictures that match exactly what you’re looking for.

Before replacing it, make sure the hoses going to it aren’t cracked or loose, since that can also trigger the code.
