I have a 2002 vw jetta 1.8 turbo that has fault code p1429 and in limp mode I checked connector on the vacuum pump and all appears to be ok. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience with this fault code on a vw jetta? I have had the car since May and haven't been able to drive it this is the last fault code I have to fix on it.

The vacuum pump is the most common component that will set the P1429 code. Also, make sure you check the vacuum pump fuse. When the pump fails, most of the times it will blow the fuse.

Unfortunately, there is no image in the factory service manual, but I found this photo online. I hope it helps. Look for a 20 Amp fuse.

So I took the vacuum pump off and tested it with the plastic 3 prong connector on and it didn't work so then I took off the plastic connector that is actually a circuit board and relay and tested the pump by itself and it was actually still good. Just wanted to update the post for others to see
