P1193 DODGE - Inlet Air Temperature Sensor Circuit High Condition
P1193 DODGE Possible Causes
- Faulty Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor
- Inlet Air Temperature Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Inlet Air Temperature Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
How is the P1193 DODGE code repair?Start by checking the "Possible Causes" listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins.

What is the cost to diagnose the P1193 DODGE code
Labor: 1.0The cost to diagnose the P1193 DODGE code is 1.0 hour of labor. The auto repair labor rates vary widely across the country, and even within the same city. Most auto repairs shops charge between $75 and $150 per hour.
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
P1193 DODGE MeaningThe Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor is a 2-wire thermistor, as intake air temperature increases, thermistor resistance, and signal voltage decrease. Cold Engine, voltage is sent through a high resistance circuit in Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Warm Engine, voltage is sent through a low resistance circuit in PCM. PCM dual circuit improves IAT accuracy overall temp ranges. PCM monitors IAT voltage to help determine air density, due to temperature, for fuel calculations. The circuit is monitored when the engine is running. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will set when Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor voltage is more than 4.9 volts.
