  • got the P1167 code first and put off repairs for fiduciary reasons. when i got around to replace the primary O2 sensor the OBD scanner threw to P1167 and P1166 codes.
    I bought the Denso 234-9025 sensor from local auto parts store, since original OEM sensor had Denso printed on it. Saved $100 by not buying from dealer.
    I have a 2000 Honda accord with 2.3L ULEV engine (engine code F23A4).
    First I cleared the codes then I replaced the primary sensor only. Pretty easy job since sensor is right in front of engine. After replacement, neither code has returned.
    Make sure you buy the right sensor for your engine code and you should be good.

  • Got the P1167 code on my 2002 Crv, Replaced both O2 sensors upstream/downstream and am still getting code after reset HELP!

  • Next step is to check for intake or exhaust leaks. If no leaks are found, then you may have to reprogram or replace the Engine Control Module (ECM)

  • Replaced front o2 sensor but check engine light is still on and the p1167 code popped up again could that be the downstream sensor?

  • More than likely the problem is not the Rear (downstream) Oxygen Sensor, there is a different code for the Rear Oxygen Sensor. You should double check the front sensor installation. Did you use a new factory sensor?
