The clutch actuator is operated by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) and engages and disengages the clutch by the clutch master cylinder movement of the clutch actuator. An electric motor moves the clutch master cylinder, and the clutch stroke sensor, which is mounted on the clutch actuator assembly, detects the clutch master cylinder position. The TCM monitors the electrical current and clutch motor output terminal voltage, and detects malfunctions in the clutch motor circuit.
