P0841 Jeep Code - LR Pressure Switch Rationality Fault

Would my 2. Speed sensors, or my pressure switch, cause my veh to not go into gear,seems like if it just sits there at idle for 5 to 10 min now it want go into gear ,shut veh off wait 2 minutes it goes into gear ,tryed driving it when it would go into gear a short distance and it slips and will not go into gear ,my wife sayed before all this started to happen, it seems to be worse with a/c on ,any help would be great or if any one has a wiring diagram /power inputs or out puts would be great ,reallydont want to replace tran,if its in the wiring issue thanks scott

Sounds more like a transmission mechanical problem and the mechanical problem triggered the codes. I suggest having a transmission shop inspect the transmission.

05 jeep grand Cherokee got codes p0700 p0730 31 32 33 34 and p0841..
Jeep is stuck in low gear and revs up high then catches around 4 to 5000 rpms but won't shift. Read all there is to read about codes but seems everyone has different options.. thanks for any help

Hello Jeff, have you tried clearing all the codes and check the transmission fluid level and condition?

The fact that the transmission revs high before start moving, more thank likely means that the problem is either low transmission fluid or a mechanical problem.

Yes i cleared them and same codes came back. But the Jeep will take off from stop and drive doesnt start reving up till it should shift.. it just starts to start like slipping and when i give it more gas it goes but the rpm get real high quick..
Trans fliud looks normal and wasnt low
Was told the p0700 code was geniric code
P0731 through p0734 were because of 1st code that the problem is in the p0841 code
The few day before it got the codes was jerky here and there out of no where.. thank you for responding!

No, the P0700 code just mean there is a problem with the transmission, an informative code. The P0700 will always set when there is another transmission code.

P0731-P0734 Codes are gear ratio codes (input speed does not match output speed).The P0841 the LR Pressure Switch reads open or closed at the wrong time in a given gear.

I checked a national database of repairs for all the codes you have on your vehicle, and I found about 20 repairs with the same codes. All the repairs point to a dirty transmission fluid filter. Replacing the filter fixed the problem.

Based on that database, I recommend starting by replacing the filter.

I just had my transmission fluid and filter changed 168 miles ago and now my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee is having shifting problems and error codes P0731, P0733 and P0841 would that indicate the filter wasn't really changed? Or ?

Either they didn't properly installed the filter or the fluid was not filled to the proper level.

Ok changed the trans filters and the seal was blown out on one of them lost alot of the codes but still have p0700 and p0733. And won't shift into 3rd kinda just revs up . Any ideas what I should do next..thank you!

As I mention before the P0700 code is just an information code, and the P0733 code is set because of the shifting problem. There are some test that needs to be done to determine what the problem is, but unfortunately, my best guess is that your have worn out clutches in the transmission. My only recommendation at this point is to have a transmission shop diagnose the problem.
