Back in July of last year I was having trouble getting my car to shift out of the lower gears and took my car into Expert Car Care of Oviedo. They had advised that my transmission be rebuilt -- this resolve the problem temporarily. Since then I've had to take it back for the same reason (unable to shift out of lower gear) 4 times. The first 3 times they had advised that it was my transmissions needing to be rebuilt and that was covered under warranty.
Its currently in the shop on its 4th attempt. They had advised they were receiving the above message as well as a failed CAM censor message. Only they are receiving the p0740 message sporadically.
I guess what I'm trying to ask is, did my transmission require the rebuild or was the issue more related to this error message? Clearly rebuilding the transmission 4 times didn't fix the problem however it did patch it up well enough to work for if not a couple of weeks maybe a month. What do you suggest I do?

man i had this code p0740 i had took it to three shops could not fix. but i find this place on yelp GreenTransmissions.com they got it fixed and its been 8 months and still all good =) they know what it was from day one. it needed the rebuild do to clutch was burnt, but also fix the p0740 code they said it was valve body t.c. valve. they even show me why. they only do honda and acura to i guess thats why they know what to look for.
