  • The P0726 on your Maxima means that the Transmission Control Module (TCM) i snot getting the engine speed from the Engine Control Module (ECM). Either the wire from the ECM to TCM are not making a good connection (loose connector or broken wire) or the ECM is damage. Are the RPM showing correctly on dash?

  • I'm having the same code with my 06 Nissan maxima, p0726. The dial for My RPM gauge is stuck under the the little bar so it doesn't move, but it revs high and sounds like it doesn't go above 4th gear. How do I test the ecm and see if there is a problem with the connection?

  • You could try just disconnecting and reconnecting the ECM connector. Most of the times the problem is the Camshaft Position Sensor. Do you have any other code?
