  • 2010 F150 STV Raptor 5.4 I get this code about once a year. Fluid and filter had been change plus a trans flush. Check the main connector on the transmission clean no water seemed a little loose but plugged back in. Trans temp gauge goes all the way down and cooling fan kicks on and stays on. Scan the ecm and get a trans fluid temp of 55f and this is after a 45 min drive. Cleared code and performed a Key on engine running performance test. Now trans temp gauge reads ok, engine cooling fan off. On this truck the Trans temp unit in the transmission is part of the valve body. The valve body must be replaced and then programmed by the Ford dealer. about $1600-1800. I think the issue might be in the ECM since the cooling fan also comes on but i am not sure. If it is the thermistor which is part of the valve body. I think I'll find the value of the resistance when the transmission is at operating temp and replace it with a fixed value resistor.
