My car 'service engine light's was on. I took my to Firestone and they ran diagnostic to detect the code which turned out to be P0705 Transmission related code. Unfortunately Firestone does not have knowledge on fixing transmission related bug. So I lost 100+ bucks without any fix.
The Nissan service center wants to run the diagnostics again as they have Nissan specific diagnostics tool itseems. So I am waiting for their diagnosis results and estimate on the fix.
Has anyone been in the same situation before. How hard is this to fix?

I'm surprise the Firestone shop was not able to fix the problem. Usually the problem is the Transmission Range Switch, which is an straightforward repair.

Unfortunately Nissan Altima 2012 has transmission range switch built into transmission. So I have to replace the transmission and the quoted price from nissan is 4500$.
As my car has 68k miles, so trying to see if nissan can cover part of the repair cost.
