  • Just getting started with an 04 Silverado w/4.8 engine. Bought last week and started right off w/ p0300 code. New to all this electronic TS but bought a Foxwell Multi-System Scanner and nailed down plugs and wires causing majority of misfires. Cleared codes and was running great ... for a week. Idle kept dropping down to 525 and barely running but no engine light. Code P0641/$10 and P0300 started up 2 days ago. I found one plug wire loose and reconnected and all cleared up. But later that day the idle was down again and no fault code. I plan to carefully disconnect all the electrical connectors around the intake manifold and clean and reseat. Also looking for info on the idle (throttle) sensor and just now am getting no oil pressure reading on my gage. Calling or emailing Foxwell for help but 0641 seems to come and go with other problems. Or maybe its the other way around? All advice welcome.

    The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) provides a 5-volt reference to the following sensors:
    Throttle position (TP) sensor 1, accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor 2, AC pressure sensor, fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor. P0641 sets when PCM detects a voltage that is higher or lower than required on 5-volt reference circuit.

    So, either one of the sensor listed above are bad or the wires from the PCM to the sensor is not making good contact. You next step is to check each sensor connector and/or check the wires from each sensor to the PCM
