P0562 GMC Code - System Voltage Low
|P0562 GMC code possible causes
- Low battery cahrge
- Battery defective
- Loose or missing alternator drive belt
- Faulty alternator
- Open or short system voltage circuit
|How is the P0562 GMC code repair?
Start by checking the "Possible Causes" listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins.
|P0562 GMC code tech notes
Start by recharging or replacing the battery.
|What is the cost to diagnose the P0562 GMC code
The cost to diagnose the P0562 GMC code is 1.0 hour of labor. The auto repair's diagnosis time and labor rates vary by location, vehicle's make and model, and even your engine type. Most auto repair shops charge between $75 and $150 per hour.
|When is the P0562 GMC code detected?
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has detected that the electrical system voltage level is too low.
|What are P0562 GMC code possible symptoms?
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Slow engine start
- Low battery power
|What is P0562 GMC code meaning?
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM
) continuously monitors the system voltage. The system voltage information is taken from the PCM
's ignition feed circuits. Voltages below 8.0 volts or above 17.1 volts causes improper system operation and/or component damage. If the system voltage is low the PCM
raises the idle speed in order to increase the generator output. The PCM
disables most outputs to protect the hardware if the system voltage is high. A scan tool may not display data if system voltage is outside this range.
