  • P0526 (cooling Fan Speed Sensor) code on 05 GMC Envoy after replacing Fan clutch assembly. At start up check engine light appears. Have replaced Fan relay and fuse (10 amp looks ok). Is there a separate sensor from the Fan Clutch harness? Would the coolant sensor in the block be faulty.

  • There is no other sensor in the harness and the coolant sensor should not trigger this code. I checked a national database of repairs, and for this code the most common causes that could trigger the code are the Fan Clutch Assembly (which you have already replaced) about 75%, the Engine Cooling Fan Wiring Harness 15% and Engine Water Pump 10%. You next step is to check the Engine Cooling Fan Wire harness.
