  • PROBLEM: My 2005 Subaru Impreza RS was stolen via hot-wiring. When it was returned, this code came up after reconnecting the battery.  The vehicle stalled every time it should have idled.

    SOLUTION: In order to fix it, I cleared the codes, and drove the car to a much higher altitude (2000+ foot difference).  Every 1000 ft in elevation I would pull over and shut the car off and turn it back on.  My theory is that the car changed the Air/Fuel mixture based on the altitude.

    OUTCOME: Although it took 100 miles and a few hours, the computer adjusted automatically and the problem is now gone.
