Code P0350 Ford Description

The P0350 Ford code indicates a problem with the primary or secondary circuit of the ignition coil. The ignition coil is responsible for converting the low voltage power from the battery into the high voltage needed to ignite the fuel and air mixture in the engine's combustion chamber. When this circuit is malfunctioning, it can lead to misfiring, rough idling, poor fuel efficiency, and even engine stalling.

Discuss the causes and fixes for P0350 Ford OBDII Code

  • Yes. The #1 ignition coil has been replaced twice. Every time it runs rough for about a 3-4 days and check engine light comes back on. Sometimes it runs fine after that on the way to work in the am but runs rough in the pm. I'm wondering if heat has any thing to cause it but then again it might hiccup a time or 2 in the am. I had the #5 replaced and no problem. Do you think it's possible to get 3 defective coil packs or maybe the mechanic is not installing properly?

  • What model and year is your Ford? It very unlikely to have 3 bad ignition coils. Check engine grounds (batter negative terminals to engine), poor grounds could cause premature components failure.

  • My Ford Escape is 2001.

  • Are you using factory (factory specifications) ignition coils? did you replaced the spark plugs with the coils? bad spark plugs coils also cause premature ignition coil failure.

  • The mechanic replaced spark plugs on all. Moved 2 good coil packs to back so older ones would be in front so theyd be easier to get to if they went bad put new one in #1
