The engine oil temperature sensor is responsible for monitoring the temperature of the engine oil, which is crucial for ensuring proper lubrication and engine performance. Discuss the causes and fixes for P0198 Infiniti OBDII Code

  • Hi guys
I had my engine replaced on my 2013 Infinity G37 about 6mths ago by the dealer with only 70000 miles on the car, I have only driven the car about 500 miles since the motor was replaced. The other day while driving to my dissapointment the service engine soon light appeared. I brought the car to Auto Zone who read the coce as a P198, I then brought the car to Infinity dealer who reset the ecm , but the code came back..after driving about 10 miles. I am bringing back for service Sat, any ideas about what may be doing on and how concerned should I be over this ?

  • Are there any other symptoms? engine noise?
I never had that problem before; my best guess is that they may have damage the wire from the sensor to the ECM during the engine installation. The sensor rarely goes bad, the only problem is that sometimes the sensor leaks, but no engine light.
If the engine oil level is OK and there are no other symptoms, then you shouldn't be concern, but the dealer has to fix the problem.
