I’m having this problem now. A few months ago I noticed that at low speeds or starting from a traffic light my car would start moving but suddenly lose all power/acceleration. This would only last a few seconds and then (having kept my foot steadily at about the same pressure on the accelerator) and then the acceleration would spring back to life! I guess the ECM was recalculating and adjusted the air/fuel mix. This was extremely noticeable when driving uphill and especially carrying heavier than normal load (extra passengers or whatever). Well the problem persisted and grew more frequent to the point I no longer attempt to make any sudden lane changes or rely on any maneuver involving quick acceleration because that’s just too iffy now. Finally after leaving my lights on during a frigid snowy night - and the battery drained - the DTC codes appeared. First it was a code for the ECM (I think that was related to the battery being off for about a week. Yeah when I discovered the dead battery I just let the car sit for a week and while the snow melted b4 fixing). Anyway I cleared the ECM code and about a week later this P0171 code showed up. I cleared the code and drove a few more days (light trips to grocery store etc ) before the P0171 code reappeared. So now that low power/acceleration issue happens almost constantly from 0mph and at low speeds. And only rarely at speeds over 25-30 mph.
