Code P0139 Chrysler Description

The P0139 Chrysler code indicates that the oxygen sensor 1/2 in the exhaust system has a slow response time. This sensor is responsible for monitoring the oxygen levels in the exhaust gases, which helps the engine control module (ECM) adjust the air-fuel mixture for optimal combustion. A slow response from the oxygen sensor can lead to inaccurate readings and affect the engine's performance and emissions.

  • When I slow down for a red light, the speedometer flutters, the car slows down even more and my Park, Drive, neutral, Etc gauge blinks wavy lines and I have to reset the computer, then I could drive, until the next time. it also happens when I'm on the highway driving 65 mph. The car drops down to a much lower speed, revs high and I have to reset the computer
    Can you help!!! Thanks

  • The P0139 code is for the Oxygen Sensor, but a faulty Oxygen Sensor will not cause the type of symptoms you have. Unfortunately there are many things that could give you the symptoms you have.
Do you have any more codes?
If there are no other codes, my only recommendation is to start by replacing the spark plugs and air filter.
