Code P0120 Nissan Description

The P0120 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for Nissan vehicles indicates an issue with the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) signal range or performance. The TPS is a crucial component that monitors the throttle position of the vehicle and sends signals to the Engine Control Module (ECM) to adjust the air-fuel mixture and ignition timing. When the ECM detects that the TPS signal is out of the expected range or is not performing as it should, it triggers the P0120 code.

  • I have search everywhere, but there is no information for the P0120 code on your 2006 Nissan Sentra. Please double check the code. From what you explain, sound like you may have a problem with the throttle body. You could start by cleaning the throttle, but if the problem persist, then you may have to replace the throttle body.

  • replaced the tps its running good but just tru p0120 code it on a 2000 xterra not sure what to do because if we move it it will not idle right

  • Usually replacing the TPS takes care of the problem, I have not seen anything else triggering the P0120 code. What is the engine size of your Xterra? how did you adjust the new TPS sensor?

  • Kept moving it to kind the sweet spot its 3.3 v6
