  • I do not think that the 2nd Gen non-Hemi Durangos have a MAF. However, they do have a MAP sensor, which is located on the intake manifold just behind where the alternator sits. Front facing-side. It is a yellowish/beige plug. If you get this code along with P00123, take a good look at the TPS. Has happened to me 2 times now, replacing the TPS worked like a charm!

  • I have a 2004 Dodge Durango with the 4.7. I am getting the p0068 code as well. I have replaced throttle position sensor, coils, spark plugs, MAP sensor and I am still having the same issue. It runs ok until you put it in drive and press the gas hard. Once the RPM'S reach 3000 it starts miss firing really bad and losses power. let of the gas and let it shift down and it regains power and stops miss firing. I have no clue I have worked on this stupid thing forever and have no idea what to do next. Any one know whats wrong?

  • The fact that starts missing at high RPM, makes me think that you may have a vacuum leak. Also, on the factory service manual, the first tat the factory recommend to check for that code is for vacuum leaks as well.

  • I will investigate more but I can not for the life of me find a vacuum leak. could it be in the PCV valve and if so where in the world is it on the 4.7 I can not find it.

  • Hello I have a 2004 durango with a 4.7. It has a rough idle, not as smooth as like. There also seems to be a light tick noise while it idles and lights flicker like it’s having trouble just idle normal. I bought it as and it was getting the P0068 code. I have checked the hoses to best of my knowledge for leaks or cracks. I been trying to find if there is any leaks at all. Spark plugs have been changed, map and TP sensor have been changed I have not changed the intake air sensor which is not inside the manifold as the books suggest. I have read tons and tons over this code trying to pinpoint something and have heard from map sensors to pvc to speed sensor in the rear.

  • Other than the Throttle Position Sensor and Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP), I have not seen any other problem triggering the P0068 code. I've checked a national database of repairs for your model yer and the only other component that may be setting the P0068 code is the throttle body.

    Since some tests needs to be done to determine exactly what the problem is, just based on records, my only suggestion is to inspect or replace the Throttle Body. If the Throttle Body check OK, then there may be and intermittent wire problem from one of the sensor and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
