Hello I have a 2000 Nissan Maxima and yesterday I noticed the engine was shaking, I went to Advance and the error codes P0306, P0013, P0014. I really don't know about cars and I am tired of getting cheated any suggestions/ help would be greatly appreciated.

Ive got the identical problem on a car purchased yesturday. Have downloaded same trouble codes. P0306 means a misfire on cylinder 6, bank 1. Either (a)the spark plug has failed or (b) the coil tube that fits onto the plug has a short allowing spark to track onto engine. Inspect coil tube - if you see any fretting at the connection between the tube then replace the coil tube (Rock Auto about $10). Before you purchase new tube test the coil for continuity (i.e. thats its still working. If so then replace the coil tube only), or (c) the coil has failed. Replace coil (comes with new tube) (rock Auto anywhere from $20 to $70 depending on quality. Factory part is Hitachi. Fix that problem first because there is a chance that P0014 may disappear because bank 1 is now supplying full power with cylinder 6 fixed.
If code P0014 remains then check the engine oil if very dirty, remove Camshaft position actuator on bank 1 and clean with brake cleaner vis an aerosole and then blow out and refit. If muck or a blockage comes out then it may be fixed. A blocked camshaft position sensor is generally caused by dirty oil - i.e. the oil is well past when it should be changed. In my case, the oil has not been changed for 50,000km (31,250 miles). The service interval is 15,000km say 8,000 - 9,000 miles. Change your oil on time and your nissan will do 300,000 miles while avoiding problems created by not changing the oil per manufacturers recommendation.

Good luck. I have a 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5S, and I have had this code since February. We’ve changed the oil and oil filter MULTIPLE times, replaced the VVT solenoid (Nissan part), and replaced the Cam Positioning Sensor (Nissan part) and still have the issue. 3 mechanics have tossed their hands up at it. No clue where to even look next. This code sends people on a wild goose chase, according to what I see online.

If that’s the only symptom you have for this code, check the throttle body and make sure it’s clean. If it’s not, try cleaning it and putting it back in. If it looks fried, replace it.

Could a lightning strike cause my 2014 Nissan Altima to run like crap?
We had a ton of rain and a lightning bolt either hit my car or right next to it, I was not in it and it wasn't running it was parked in my driveway. Since then it did not run correctly and it is throwing the codes p0304, p 0300, and p0014. I never had a problem with my car before the storm, so I'm wondering if this could be what caused it to mess up and what is it take to be fixed? -
Oh yeah also when I'm going slow and apply the brakes like as to park for example, it makes the noise and feel like the EBS comes on. Like that funky noise you get when you're sliding on ice and try to break

I never heard of lightning bolt triggering any code or causing any engine performance problem. My guess is that water got into the engine compartment or in any of the wire harness, as well as the brake system. Unfortunately diagnosing the problem may not be easy, since there is a problem with the brakes, I recommend to have a technician take a look at the problem.

2014-16 Sentra 1.8 , with hood raised leaning on passenger fender.
Exhaust is to your left, intake is on your right.
Solenoid valves or over/under at a diagonal.
Upper and Left is Exhaust
Lower and Right is Intake
Behind Cam Cover ( Wich holds Solenoid valves) are 2 small strainers.
Support Engine underneath,
Remove Top Engine Mount to get to Cover.
The two small strainers can be cleaned and New Oil changed.
Valves can easily be cleaned and replace long as Solenoid part is working.
1 1/2 - 2 hours if you have done it before. -
My rogue 2014 was low in gas and the light was on when I filled the tank in gas station, after I started the engine it was running rough. The codes p0300 and p0014 are showing . The oil level is full , Any idea what the problem could be?

When was the last time you change the engine oil and filter?
The rough idle and P0300 code could been caused by the low fuel, but the P0014 is more related to the engine oil level and condition.
I recommend trying clear the code and drive it for a few minutes, the rough idle may go away with the new fuel. -
I have a 2013 Nissan Maxima and we have been dealing with a P00014 code for the last year. The car runs fine and idles perfectly. The engine oil and filter is crystal clear. We have replaced both crankshaft and camshaft sensor, VVT solenoid (even though it was perfectly fine), electrical testing is not showing any shorts. In a last ditch effort to fix this issue and three mechanics later we spend an arm and a leg to have the exhaust valve magnet retarder replaced. That didn't fix this either. It is frustrating because the car runs perfectly but I haven't been able to drive it for almost a year because it won't pass emissions with this light on. I still owe $12K on it so I cannot trade it in. I have tried. Does anyone have any ideas what else might be causing this issue?

Looks like you have replaced everything that could set the P0014 code, even the exhaust valve magnet retarder. Do you know which VVT solenoid was replaced? there are 4 solenoids in your car. Could be that you replaced the wrong VVT solenoid? Unfortunately, other than the components you have replaced, there are no other component that could set the P0014 code.

Same thing here I have a 2012 Nissan Maxima and P0014 is my demon... I have replaced everything rest the codes and around 80 miles it pops up and stares me right in the face.... I am about ready to just get rid of this car at this point

If all the sensors, valves and magnet were replaced, code deleted and the same CEL is returning, you may have a mechanical condition with one of the camshaft sprockets not actually adjusting the timing. Hydraulic ports in the sprocket mechanisms can be clogged or a piece of the assembly damaged.

14 Altima, same codes 0014 and 0300. I checked all three of the VVT solenoids, they are working. changed oil and filter. Would camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor be my next step? Would new plugs make any difference?

The Variable Valve Timing Control Solenoid are by far the most frequent problem that will set the P0014, but if the solenoid is OK, then the Camshaft Position Sensor is the second most frequent problem. I doubt the spark plugs will fix the P0014 code. Just make sure you are using the correct oil weight for your Altima.
