Precautions for SRS “AIR BAG” and “SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER” Service
- Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, side air curtain modules or seat belts.
- Never disassemble or tamper with safety belt buckle/retractor pretensioners, adaptive load limiting retractors, safety belt inflators, or probe the electrical connectors.
- Do not use electrical test equipment to check SRS circuits unless instructed to in this Service Manual.
- Before servicing the SRS, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes. For approximately 3 minutes after the cables are removed, it is still possible for the air bag and seat belt pre-tensioner to deploy. Therefore, do not work on any SRS connectors or wires until at least 3 minutes have passed.
Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.

note: This b1054 code came on before I made any changes and it was OFF prior to a few days ago. I noticed that steering wheels controls were not working, so I changed the (you guessed it) clock spring. After the clock spring was changed the steering wheel controls worked however the airbag light is still flashing. Should I assume to change the actual airbag? the orange cable is b1054 and the yellow is b1049. FYI. just not sure why the orange has an open circuit.....does anyone have a srs wiring diagram for 05 g35?

How long it takes for the code to come back once you clear the code?
Here is the wire diagram

Thank for the wiring diagram. The code does not clear.
Since my last post, I changed the airbag in the steering wheel. still no dice! - the code im getting is b1054 ONLY. I can't figure out where the break in circuit is. any suggestions?

Was your G ever involved in an accident? did the air bag deploy? if the air bag deployed, then the airbag diagnosis sensor unit needs to be replace or reset.
-
How can I know for sure? When i bought the car the light was off, I drove it for a bit and it came on. Under this circumstance, would that still include the possibility of the diagnosis sensor?

would that still include the possibility of the diagnosis sensor?
Unfortunately, there is nothing else. Broken wire is not a common problem.
If for some reason the air bag was deployed, and the diagnosis sensor unit was not replaced or reset, the diagnosis sensor unit is the problem. You don't need to replace the diagnosis sensor unit, there are some shops online that can reset and test the unit for around $50. Just search "Airbag Module Reset"

When I purchased the vehicle I drove it for about 4-5 days before the light came on and started flashing. Could that still be the airbag module in the center console? The code also does not reset. Just flashing!
Do you know if there are any clips behind the clockspring that could of come loose? any other area between clockspring and unit itself that could pose an issue?
