my 2010 Murano was diagnosed with B1018 error...faulty airbag sensors, so side airbag will not deploy in a wreck. Two issues need discussion and would like feedback from anyone else:
1. there have been various models and years recalled for this safety issue, but not the 2010 Murano. Nissan North America has not helpful to this point.
2. you cannot just replace this $50 part. the design is such that the entire seat must be replaced! a $2,000+ repair for a $50 to $80 part. Nissan has corrected this serious design flaw in subsequent years, but that fact does not help me. Neither will Nissan N.A.My vehicle is out warranty so I would pay a reasonable service and parts charge to have this replaced, but do not want to replace a $2,000 seat because of their poor design.
I've been told there is an easy workaround, which I'll pursue if Nissan does not do the right thing.

I have a 2008 Nissan Frontier SE. I popped the B1018 code. Additionally, I have a P1564 code which is ASCD SW which states I could have a loose or disconnected wire in the steering column wires and my cruise control only turns on if your crank the wheel hard to the left. I’m thinking I could have a bad connection which I will check. I’m wondering if this could also cause the passenger seat belt B1018 along with cruise control issue. A Coil Spring or a faulty ECU. If anyone has any thoughts I’d appreciate it.

The B1018 code is not for the Passenger Side Seat Belt. The P1018 is for the Occupant Sensor, which is the sensor under the Passenger Side Seat Cushing. I can't see how both problems are related, more than likely you have two different problems. Try clearing the code first and check if the code comes back.
