I have a Buick 2020 encore preferred I have replaced the ambient temperature sensor and purchased a new wiring harness. I know where the sensor is located and the connector for the sensor on the harness but do not know where the other end of the harness is supposed to be connected to. where can I find this information? The harness is routed behind the front bumper cover and then to the driver side near the battery mount but then I cannot find the mating connector.

On the 2020 Buick Encore, the ambient temp sensor harness doesn’t run all the way back to the battery or fuse box as a single piece. It plugs into a short sub-harness behind the driver-side headlight area. That connection point is easy to miss because it’s taped to the main front-end wiring loom from the factory.
Follow the new harness you installed up the driver-side frame rail, just behind the bumper support. Look for a 2-pin connector taped or clipped to the larger wiring bundle near the headlight and washer bottle area. That’s where the ambient temp pigtail plugs in. It does not go directly into the ECM or battery junction block.
If someone replaced the bumper or the front-end was repaired in the past, that little sub-harness often gets tucked away, damaged, or cut—so take a close look for a taped-over or dangling 2-pin connector in that area.
Once the connector is matched up, clear the code and the temp reading should return to normal.
