B00E7 Code - Third Row Left Seatbelt Pretensioner 'C' Deployment Control
Quick Answer
The B00E7 diagnostic trouble code (DTC) indicates an issue with the deployment control of the third row left seatbelt pretensioner 'C' in a vehicle's restraint system. Common causes include Wiring Issues: Damaged or corroded wiring in the seatbelt pretensioner circuit can disrupt signals and lead to deployment failures, Faulty Pretensioner: A malfunctioning pretensioner unit itself may fail to operate correctly due to internal defects, Connector Problems: Loose or corroded connectors can interrupt the electrical flow needed for pretensioner deployment. Severity is High - diagnose this code as soon as possible. Driving is not recommended if the warning light is flashing, the engine runs poorly, or safety-related symptoms are present.

Code B00E7 Description
Common Causes of B00E7
- Wiring Issues: Damaged or corroded wiring in the seatbelt pretensioner circuit can disrupt signals and lead to deployment failures.
- Faulty Pretensioner: A malfunctioning pretensioner unit itself may fail to operate correctly due to internal defects.
- Connector Problems: Loose or corroded connectors can interrupt the electrical flow needed for pretensioner deployment.
- Control Module Failure: The vehicle's airbag control module may have faults that prevent it from sending the correct signals to the pretensioner.
- Environmental Damage: Exposure to moisture, dirt, or debris can affect the pretensioner’s operation, especially in older vehicles.
Symptoms of B00E7
- Warning Light: The airbag warning light or a specific seatbelt warning light may illuminate on the dashboard.
- Seatbelt Malfunction: The third-row left seatbelt may not retract properly or may feel loose during normal use.
- Inconsistent Deployment: In some cases, the pretensioner may deploy inconsistently or fail to deploy when expected.
- Diagnostic Trouble Code: The presence of the B00E7 code when performing a vehicle scan.
- Increased Resistance: A noticeable increase in resistance when attempting to pull the seatbelt, indicating a potential mechanical issue.
How to Fix B00E7
- Diagnostic Scan: Begin by using a diagnostic scanner to confirm the B00E7 code and check for any related codes that may provide additional context.
- Visual Inspection: Conduct a thorough visual inspection of the wiring and connectors associated with the third row left seatbelt pretensioner for signs of damage or corrosion.
- Test the Pretensioner: Use a multimeter to test the pretensioner and its circuit for continuity and proper voltage. Replace the pretensioner if it is found to be faulty.
- Repair or Replace Wiring: If damaged wiring or connectors are identified, repair or replace them to ensure a solid electrical connection.
- Clear Codes and Test: After repairs, clear the diagnostic codes and perform a test drive to ensure the issue is resolved and the warning light does not reappear.

Precautions for SRS “AIR BAG” and “SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER” Service
- Never probe the electrical connectors on air bag, side air curtain modules or seat belts.
- Never disassemble or tamper with safety belt buckle/retractor pretensioners, adaptive load limiting retractors, safety belt inflators, or probe the electrical connectors.
- Do not use electrical test equipment to check SRS circuits unless instructed to in this Service Manual.
- Before servicing the SRS, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery cables and wait at least 3 minutes. For approximately 3 minutes after the cables are removed, it is still possible for the air bag and seat belt pre-tensioner to deploy. Therefore, do not work on any SRS connectors or wires until at least 3 minutes have passed.
Failure to follow this instruction may result in the accidental deployment of these modules, which increases the risk of serious personal injury or death.
