2008 Avalanche shows B0081-5A code. I’m using an Autel MK808 Maxicom code reader and have erased the code but it immediately comes back. Looking at the code using live data indicates the passenger position sensor is reading in negative numbers for some reason.

I checked the plug pins for a ground on the PPS (after disconnecting battery) and found a ground in 2 of them. One is a red/white wire, the other black/white.

The Black/White you should have ground. The Red/White you should have power, but because the power is disconnected and other components may be connected to the same wire, you may have a different reading.

Ok. With the SDM plug loose and the PPS plug off I’m still showing the black/white wire grounded. Is that supposed to be present?
